  • Q for the group: How is everyone doing? (Round Robin)

7:20- AA.NH.PI month update (Tracey)

  • Excited to celebrate with all of our families and communities. It’s a good opportunity to explore our interconnectivity with each other.
  • Morning announcements during the school days this month. Compiled a resource list for staff to support them in talking about and supporting this month.
  • Wing Luke is offering in person tours right now. Exploring field trips options for school. Select grades and classes are looking into the opportunity.
  • Also seeking storytellers to come to the school to tell stories about themselves, their culture, traditions - open to ideas!
    • Reach out to Kristen or Emma if you are interested in participating (or know someone who is/who you’d like to recommend)
  • May 28, 11-1 at Jefferson Park - informal meet up and potluck with AA.NH.PI families; all are welcome!

7:30- Town Hall tomorrow, invitation to share FSW points (Kelly)

  • Legislative Town Hall is being hosted tomorrow night (May 5th) at 6:15 pm. Cougar Connection has more details; you need to register ahead of time to attend.
  • We are pulling some statements and questions to submit ahead of time. We have a statement from Zeinab (our Family Support Worker) to be read.
    • One cool learning was that many state reps have connections to S. Seattle schools....Rep Sharon Tomiko Santos went to Kimball and others are parents of students in S Seattle

7:35- Other updates (tbd)

  • Volunteers needed for Art Walk - reach out to Sala!

7:45- Circle Conversation: Processing changes, looking ahead

Where are you feeling energy and excitement in our PTSA work? What feels sustainable (as individuals and as a group)? Collectively, how do we want to grow, where might we shrink, where do we feel it's important to just maintain?

  • Kimball PTSA is part of WA PTSA so they require us to put specific names for President, VP, Secretary and Treasurer… But we can decide what we need to do with those names. We can still do what we want and we can put multiple names in positions. But we need to still have formal names in those places to be a part of the WA PTSA, which is important.

8:40- Closing

  • Charissa and Carrie L. are meeting next week to talk about PTSA roles and community to engage. If you have ideas and/or are interested in supporting certain roles or projects, reach out to them.
