Moveathon / Fundraising

  • April 9 - during school 9-11pm, like field day. Swag will be water bottles (not pedometers). Kids will be collecting pledges. Volunteers needed day of.
  • Funds go toward: Team Read, community events, teacher and admin supplies, field trips, teacher appreciation, etc.
  • Kimball is also supported by levy funds, pending the current ballot measures, as well as Title 1 funds through the federal government.

Communications / PTSA Outreach

  • We talked about communications and fundraising in general - need more explanation and touch points.
    • Adding “what we’ve funded in the last month” to Cougar Connection.
    • Having QR codes at events to make it easy to donate
    • Updating our PTSA landing page so that it says more about what we do.
      • Hard to do with the district official website but could be as easy as creating a landing page with PTSA info and a QR code.
      • A Seattle Council PTSA page was identified as a possible communications resource.
  • Kimball Kitchen - a fundraiser that also builds community and connection. Unique to Kimball.
  • Building relationships within the school - pairing families? Kinder and 5th grade pairs? Kimball lost some relationship and community building opportunities during Covid and the temporary building. Art Walk was a community event that used to happen.
  • Teacher appreciation in May - 1 week, takes a lot of volunteers.
