PTSA meeting: school budget and program funding

The budget included a reduction of two special-education instructional assistants.

A request included $8,000 for Team Read and potentially $1,500 each for Raz Kids and another program, totaling $11,000.

Question about supply funds - consider partnering with school on this again.

Snacks for team read are about $200-$300 every 6 weeks. - SO an additional $2000 in snacks.

A second Islandwood grant reduced PTSA responsibility from a budgeted $8,000 to stipends closer to $4,000.

The notes recorded an early search for lower-cost Islandwood options.

We budgeted for about $46,000 this year and have thus far only paid out about $18,000, but there are still some things outstanding.

All attendees at the meeting voted unanimously to support both Team Read and the two programs.
