🏃🎉 Kimball Move-A-Thon Success!
Thank you for making our biggest event of the year a high-energy hit!
What an incredible day! We had a blast at our annual Move-A-Thon last week. Our students brought so much energy to the field, and it was wonderful to see our community come together to support them. A huge thank you to all of our amazing volunteers and community partners who made this special event possible for our kids!
Students stayed active and engaged with a wide variety of fun stations, including:
- Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Yoga
- Basketball and Soccer
- Gardening and Jump Rope
- Community Clean-Up (keeping our Beacon Hill neighborhood beautiful!)
While the event itself has wrapped, our fundraising efforts are still going strong! We are working toward our goal of $25,000 to fund school supplies for every single student at Kimball and support equitable funding across Southeast Seattle through our partnership with SESSFA. If you haven't had a chance to give yet, please consider a donation before the end of the month to help us reach our goal!
🏃 Move-A-Thon: We’re Leading the Way!
Help us cross the $25,000 finish line!
Kimball community, we have some incredible news to share! We are currently leading all participating SE Seattle schools in our Move-A-Thon fundraising efforts. 🎉 Our collective momentum is amazing, and it shows just how much we care about our students and staff.
So far, we have raised more than $12,000, but we still have a way to go to reach our $25,000 goal. These funds are vital—they allow the PTSA to provide 100% of basic school supplies for every student and support essential school programs regardless of a family's ability to pay.
How you can help:
- Start your page: If you haven't already, set up a personal fundraising page for your student.
- Share the link: Ask family, friends, and neighbors to support our school. Donations of any amount make a huge difference!
- Employer Matching: Don't forget to check if your company matches donations using our Tax ID: 91-6121122.
Fundraising continues through the end of the month. Let’s keep this energy going and show the rest of the district what the Kimball Cougars can do!
🙌 How to Participate in the Move-A-Thon!
Help us reach our goal and support every Kimball student!
The Move-A-Thon is our school’s biggest annual fundraiser, and we need our whole community to make it a success! All funds raised through the Southeast Seattle Schools Fundraising Alliance (SESSFA) help us provide essential school supplies for every student, regardless of a family's ability to pay. Fundraising is officially open now through April 30.
Getting involved is easy and makes a huge impact:
- Join Kimball’s Team: Visit our official fundraising page to see our progress and join the effort.
- Personalize Your Page: Creating a personal fundraising page is optional but highly encouraged! It’s a wonderful way to share why you love Kimball with your network.
- Reach Out: Ask family, friends, and neighbors to donate. Every bit helps us close the gap and support our staff and students.
- Offline Donations: We happily accept cash or check donations! Please turn these in directly to your child’s teacher.
If you have any questions or need help setting up your page, please reach out to Claire Douglas at clairedouglas1@gmail.com. Let’s go, Cougars!

🌏 Join us for Multicultural Night!
A celebration of our diverse and vibrant Kimball community
Get ready for a fun evening at Kimball’s Multicultural Night (also known as Heritage Night)! This is a beautiful celebration of our community that you won’t want to miss—everyone is welcome!
Join us on Thursday, April 9 from 5:30–7:35 PM for an evening filled with pride and joy. The event features:
- Student performances and talent shows
- A community fashion show
- Delicious food from around the world
All performances are led by our amazing Kimball students! We are so proud to showcase the diverse cultures and traditions that make our school special.
We need your help! To make this evening a success, we are looking for volunteers to help with setup, activities, and our cleanup crew to assist the custodial staff. Whether you have 30 minutes or two hours to spare, your support makes a huge difference in making this event possible for our families.
🗓️ In-Person PTSA Meeting: Planning for Next Year
Join us for dinner, childcare, and community updates
We invite all Kimball families to join us for our next in-person PTSA meeting on Monday, April 22nd at 6:00 PM in the Family Room. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow caregivers and stay informed about what's happening at our school.
We have several important topics to discuss as we look toward the future of our community:
- Next Year’s Budget: We’ll be reviewing our financial goals to ensure we can continue providing school supplies for every student.
- Leadership Opportunities: Learn more about how you can share your talents by joining the PTSA board or serving as a Class Parent.
- Principal’s Update: We are excited to hear directly from Principal Angela Bogan regarding school updates and vision.
To make this meeting accessible for everyone, dinner and childcare will be provided. We especially encourage our BIPOC and multilingual families to attend, as we strive to ensure our PTSA leadership and programs reflect the diversity of our student body. We are better together!
🍽️ Kimball Kitchen: Help Us Keep the Tradition Alive!
We are looking for volunteer leaders to sustain our favorite community food fundraiser.
Kimball Kitchen began during the pandemic as a way to keep our community connected, and it has since grown into a beloved tradition. It’s a space where Kimball families prepare and sell their favorite dishes, allowing us to celebrate the incredible diversity of our school through a shared love of food.
This program is more than just a delicious meal—it is a vital fundraiser. All proceeds from Kimball Kitchen help fund our annual Multicultural Night (Heritage Night), ensuring we can celebrate our cultures together every spring.
We need your help! We are looking for volunteers to help lead and sustain this important program. If you’re interested in helping organize these events, we would love to hear from you. Plus, stay tuned—we are hoping to host one big Kimball Kitchen before the end of the school year!
